Funding and support for LBJ and the Great Society

LBJ and the Great Society is funded in large part by an NEH Production Grant.

Thanks to the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library for use of countless oral histories and phone call recordings. We would also like to acknowledge the stellar archivists at the Library; Nicole Hadad and Sarah Cunningham provided outstanding guidance and support throughout the production process.

In-kind support has been provided by the Miller Center at the University of Virginia along with Rotunda, the digital imprint of the University of Virginia Press. Rotunda provided the production team with access to the Presidential Recordings Daily Edition. This collection includes full phone calls from the Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon administrations, all of which are annotated and transcribed.

Thanks also to Washington University Libraries for use of material from the Henry Hampton Collection. This collection, freely accessible online, includes digitized video interviews capturing the voices of unknown heroes alongside leaders of the civil rights movement. It’s an exceptional resource for anyone interested in the the black freedom struggle.
