Steve Atlas (Executive Producer and Writer) is a longtime producer of news and documentary programming for public broadcasting. For two decades, he wrote, produced, directed, and managed national public affairs programs for flagship PBS station,WGBH/Boston. Since 2013, Atlas has specialized in oral history projects — in both radio and podcast form -- that explore important moments in modern American history through the recorded recollections of people who were there. In addition to LBJ and the Great Society, his work in this area includes We Knew JFK, LBJ’s War, and a work in progress on Richard Nixon and Vietnam.

Derek L. John (Senior Producer and Director of Sound Design) is a Peabody Award-winning Editor, Reporter & Producer. He’s currently an Executive Producer at Slate Podcasts. A longtime veteran of WNYC and WBEZ, he’s contributed to NPR, Marketplace, Radiolab’s More Perfect, Freakonomics Radio, The New Yorker Radio Hour, Studio 360, Death, Sex & Money, ESPN’s 30 for 30 and Audible Originals. He received a national Edward R. Murrow Award for "Best Use of Sound” and holds a Masters in Journalism from NYU, where he later taught a graduate radio course.

Caitlin Rathe (Producer and Researcher) recently completed a PhD in History at the University of California, Santa Barbara, with an analysis of American politics and welfare policy from the 1960s to the 1980s. She currently lives in Nottingham, UK.
